The world's first test tube burger has been cooked and eaten at a news conference in London this lunchtime.

Two volunteer taste-testers have taken a bite from the controversial delicacy.

The meat was grown in a laboratory, from cattle stem cells and cost 250-thousand pounds to produce.

It's hoped the world's most expensive burger could signal the end of animal slaughter and global hunger - but critics are concerned about possible unknown side-effects.
