A young man has died following a car crash in County Galway.

The crash happened at Ballintava, Dunmore on Friday, October 18, at around 2.30am.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was taken to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries, and has since passed away.

Another man in his 20s, who was a passenger in the car, is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area between 1.30am and 2.30am and may have camera footage.
