A young man remains in a serious condition in hospital after an attack involving a “group of males” in Dublin city centre on Sunday night.
It is understood the man in his 20s was socialising with friends in the city before the attack.
Gardaí said the “disturbance involving a group of males” happened outside a premises on Ushers Quay shortly before 9pm.
They said a man in his 20s suffered a head injury and was taken from the scene by ambulance.
He was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he remains in a serious condition this morning.
The scene was preserved overnight on Monday and was examined by Garda crime scene officers.
