A young man was seriously injured in a car crash in Wexford yesterday. 

At 11.40pm, Gardaí and emergency services were called out to a single vehicle crash at Poulfur in Fethard-on-Sea. 

A man in his 20s was taken to Waterford University Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries. 

A woman, who is also in her 20s, has also received medical treatment. 

The road has been closed ahead of an inspection by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. 

Any witnesses have been asked to contact New Ross Garda Station.
