The advice - from the youth organisation Spunout.ie - follows the death of Shannon Gallagher in Co. Donegal this week.
The 15 year old took her own life on Wednesday - less then six weeks after her 13 year old sister Erin, also died by suicide.
The Mayor of Donegal, Frank McBrearty, is now calling for a national campaign to tackle the issue of suicide and he says the Government needs to take action.
In its programme for Government, the coalition ring-fenced €35 million for mental health services for young people - and calls are now being made for these primary mental health care facilities to be set up as soon as possible.
