A woman in her 20s is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries following a suspected assault in Cork city.

The incident happened at a house close to the city centre after 9am this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene and a woman is receiving treatment for her injuries at Cork University Hospital.

The street has been cordoned off for a technical examination and a helicopter has been seen flying over the area.

It’s understood Gardaí are searching for a man in relation to the incident.
