A woman in her 20s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an incident on the roads in Co Louth last night.

The woman, who was travelling by e-scooter, was discovered on the side of Tom Bellow Avenue yesterday at around 9pm.

The woman was removed from the scene to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to be treated for injuries believed to be serious.

The scene currently remains preserved for examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses that were in the area between 9:15pm and 9:45pm – particularly those with camera footage – to come forward.
