Ulster Bank is giving its customers €25 in compensation for a major computer failure this summer which saw many account holders out of pocket.

The payment will be given to current account holders who visited and transacted at a branch during the period of the incident from the 19th of June to the 18th of July 2012 more frequently than usual.

In addition customers will be refunded all fees, charges and debit interest which may have been charged in error.

The bank will also reimburse those customers who have incurred ‘reasonable’ out-of-pocket expenses as a result of the incident up to €120.

Ulster Bank says it wants to reassure its customers that their credit rating will not be affected.

It says a full list of all Ulster Bank fees, charges or interest that are being refunded and the refund dates is available on its website.
