A young man has been arrested by Gardaí investigating an aggravated burglary in Limerick.
Investigators said two men broke into a house in the Shannonvale area just after 7am yesterday morning.
They then armed themselves with is believed to have been a knife.
The occupant of the house managed to alert Gardaí who arrived at the house while the men were still there.
The men fled the scene in the direction of Caherdavin.
After carrying out an “extensive search” in the area, Gardaí said they found a young man hiding in the Shannonvale area.
He was arrested and brought to Henry St Garda Station.
The second suspect remains at large.
The person in the house was not injured.
Investigators are calling for witnesses to contact them.
