A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the serious assault on a man in Mullingar last Saturday.
He was arrested yesterday and is due to appear before the Mullingar District Court this morning.
A second teenager who was also arrested yesterday has been released without charge.

The victim, who was discovered with serious injuries on Grove Street in the early hours of Saturday morning remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
