Every Friday sees the new album and single releases hit online and the stores, and here's our picks of the five songs you should be listening to this weekend.
ZAYN - "sHe"
No longer Zayn Malik, but all-caps ZAYN, plus that oddball spelling of the song titles, means that the former One Direction'er has gone all arty. Not that it matters, because it's paid off, as his debut solo album Mind Of Mine is full of alt-r'n'b rompers that will have many a fan's heart all a-flutter. This track, taking aiming at a misguided ex, is our favourite from the LP.
Mark Pritchard - "Beautiful People" featuring Thom Yorke
Electronic producer and remix-er Pritchard has worked within just about every musical type of dance genre you can think of, from grime to techno, and here he has created a minimalist masterpiece with the Radiohead singer, who lends his queasy, blurred lyrical delivery for a perfect match of sounds with performer.
The Lumineers - "Cleopatra"
Its been almost four years to the day since The Lumineers released their debut album, and now they're back with a new album on April 8th. Before then, they've released the title track, which is full of those lush lyrics and melting guitar melodies that fans will be able to recognise immediately.
Nick Jonas - "Close" featuring Tove Lo
While the females continue to run the game, the position of King Of Pop has been left painfully vacant of late. Enter Nick Jonas, who has been quietly building up a CV of kick-ass pop singles (see: "Levels", "Jealous" and "Chains"), and has now teamed up with Swedish popstrel Tove Lo for this incredibly sexy, Caribbean-twinged bedroom romper.
Katy B - "I Wanna Be"
The British songstress is prepping the release of her third album Honey for the end of April, and has been steadily releasing a stream of great songs in the lead-up, including some collaborations with the likes of Major Lazer, Craig David, Tinie Tempah and Four Tet. The latest single sees her reunite with Geeneus, the primary producer on her previous two albums, for five minutes of what we like to call a full on 'BangLad' - one part Banger, one part Ballad.
