A Dublin father has told Newstalk Breakfast how he believes the marriage referendum is important to "blow away the dark clouds of homophobia." Enda Morgan's comments come as both sides of the debate look to make their final points on air ahead of tomorrow's broadcast moratorium.
This morning, Mr Morgan recalled how his daughter Rachel came out to her parents five years ago, and has gone on to be very happy and meet the partner of her dreams.
He says Ireland now has to "do right" by its children and give all of them the right to marry:
On the No side of the debate, David Quinn spoke about why he is voting no in the referendum.
During the interview he told Chris Donoghue that he deosn't agree with surrogacy. He told Chris: "I think surrogacy is deeply problematic and yes, should be prohibited entirely."
On why he wants the marriage referendum to be rejected, he pointed to the example of New Zealand, where he says two men got married "as a joke" after same-sex couples were given the right in that country - and he's concerned that such a development would mean marriage was redefined.
He finished by stating: "You are not living and letting live when you create a system in which children are deliberately deprived of a mother and father".
