The man who pleaded guilty to the murder of Karen Buckley in Glasgow yesterday previously stood trial over attempted rape.
Alexander Pacteau was accused of attacking a 24-year-old woman by trying to force her to perform a sex act on him.
He was found not guilty.
Pacteau was yesterday remanded in custody, having pleaded guilty to Ms Buckley's murder.
Glasgow High Court heard that the 24-year-old was killed within minutes of leaving the Sanctuary nightclub on April 12th last.
Detectives believe Ms Buckley might have got into his car because she was offered a lift home. He now faces a mandatory life term when he is sentenced for her murder on September 8th.
STV News in Glasgow has obtained the court transcript of his 2013 trial.
"He also gave evidence, during which he claimed that he was a homosexual and that he was just a daft, young 17-year-old who was trying to help out this girl get a taxi", news organiser in STV News, Mike Farrell, told Newstalk Breakfast.
"He was almost portraying himself as the victim in this case".
"He was accused of lying throughout that trial as well - which was obviously a theme again that came out yesterday".
Mr Farrell says there are some similarities to the Buckley case.
