Evacuation notices have been issued in towns and villages across the Balkans over fresh fears of flooding.
Though rains have stopped, exceptionally high levels of water in the region's waterways continue to flow and must break banks at some point - leading to authorities issuing new emergency notices in the last 24 hours.
The River Sava is expected to burst its banks today, those who live close to it are under threat.
It is estimated that over a million people have so far been affected by the worst floods to hit the area in over a century.
Sky's Tom Parmenter is in Serbia. He told Newstalk's Breakfast the affected countries will have a long and difficult path to recovery:
Death toll estimates are still conservative, with official figures showing more than 40 people have been killed. However, it is accepted that the real number on those who have been killed is considerably higher.
There is also new fear that power stations and coal supplies could fail, leading to power cuts and further vulnerability.
