The Jobs Minister says the there has been a strong performance when it comes to job creation this year. Richard Bruton says 58,000 extra jobs have been created in the past 12 months.
There are concerns over the future of the pharmaceutical sector in Ireland after hundreds of job losses were announced at Pfizer, MSD and Baxter in recent weeks.
But Minister Richard Bruton told Breakfast here on Newstalk that we are winning more than we are losing.
It comes as 15 new software engineering jobs have been announced for Dublin. Axway is to expand its research and development centre in the city.
The company says it will continue to grow over the next few years. Axway has some 11,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
Axway joins other big tech firms - such as Amazon, Facebook, Google and LinkedIn - which have all recently expanded their operations in Dublin. The company says its expansion will look to make the most of the "local engineering talent".
