The Chairman of the banking inquiry is appealing for its members to 'leave their club jersey's at the door' and work together to examine the Irish financial collapse.
There was uproar yesterday when a Senate vote saw two new members join the inquiry team giving the government a majority on the committee.
Independent Stephen Donnelly says the additions mean the inquiry will no longer be fair and he is now thinking about ending his involvement.
But Chair Ciaran Lynch told Newstalk Lunchtime he wants all of those nominated to work together and do the best job possible.
The Taoiseach is meanwhile facing calls from within the coalition to withdraw the government members he has controversially added to the banking inquiry.
Labour TD Dominic Hannigan says the addition yesterday of two Senators to the inquiry was bad politics.
Opposition figures described the move as "skulduggery" and "gerrymandering".
Dominic Hannigan told Newstalk Breakfast earlier that he expects the Taoiseach to reassess his decision, to restore public confidence.
Yesterday the Taoiseach dismissed what he called the 'hysterical' response to the banking inquiry's changed members.
