You might be one of the 140,000 people in Ireland who paid to watch our next guest play with Bruce Springsteen this year. Jake Clemons has taken over from his uncle Clarence as the saxophonist in the E-Street Band and is embarking on a tour of Ireland in support of his new EP, Embracing Light.
He joined Breakfast and told Chris what it was like growing up with the E-Street Band in your back garden. He described how he felt the very first time he saw them on stage when he was 8 years old.
"When I went to the first show it really shook me, it cemented where I was going in life"
Jake admitted that he resisted music as a career to begin with, but you can only fight against yourself for so long.
"I've tried everything from landscaping to financial planning... but at the end of the day the only thing that feels great to me and is amazingly fulfilling is expressing myself in music,."
You can see him in Dundalk tonight and over the next few days Cork, Clonakilty, Galway and Limerick.
