Central Banks facing "Jeremy Clarkson moment" over drop of the Euro

Tourists and businesses are being warned the euro and US dollar may reach parity at some point.

It comes as the single currency continues to drop in value against the dollar and sterling.

The euro reached a 12-year low against the dollar yesterday, while sterling achieved a seven year high.

The market activity means less value for those buying products, or holidaying in the US or UK.

The euro/dollar rate has been steadily falling for months, as markets factored in a €1tn stimulus plan by the European Central Bank - which began this week.

Nick Bullman is founder and managing director of Checkrisk.

He is advising anyone travelling to get their currencies changed now, as the rates may get worse.

He told Newstalk Breakfast Europe is going against trends elsewhere around the globe.
