Gardai have said they are not looking for a third party in their investigation into the deaths of two people in Co Clare last night.
27-year-old Angelique Belling and a 44-year-old Cornelius Belling died in Kildysart after they were found by gardaí with serious injuries.
It is understood they had both suffered stab wounds.
Emergency services had been attending the scene of an unrelated fire when Mrs Belling collapsed on the main street.
The man was then found seriously injured inside the house but despite efforts to save them, both were declared dead at the scene.
The bodies remain at the scene this morning and the area has been sealed off.
The couple's two children - aged 3 and 5 - are being looked after by neighbours, and the HSE has been contacted.
