Gardai in Dublin are appealing for information following the attempt on the life of John GIlligan at the weekend.
The 61-year-old was shot a number of times at his brother's house on Greenfort Crescent in Clondalkin on Saturday evening.
The two two masked gunmen are believed to have made their getaway in a silver or grey coloured 4x4.
The convicted drug dealer is recovering in Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he has been placed under armed guard.

Gardaí in Dublin are meanwhile on the look-out for a silver jeep which may be the key to finding the men who shot Mr. Gilligan.
Gardai are appealing for information as they search for two gunmen who fled on Saturday evening.
The Sunday Times' John Mooney wrote the book "Gangster" about the crime lord. He says Gilligan was feuding with "younger gangs" before the shooting.
