If you do, you're one of a third of Irish people who are now media stacking - multi-tasking in the digital age. But does the activity enhance our viewing experience, or is it just a needless distraction?
On Newstalk Breakfast this morning Chris Donoghue spoke to the Guardian's media commentator Roy Greenslade. He said that media stacking adds to our enjoyment, largely thanks to the thousands of witty people who live tweet during sporting events and popular programmes:

A new survey has revealed that more than half of Irish adults now own a smartphone - but a third of us still don't understand this new technology.
The third Eircom Household Sentiment Survey revealed that while 1.7 million Irish people over the age of 16 own an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or other smartphone, almost half of 50 - 64 year olds and three quarters of those over 65 have a hard time understanding how to use these devices.
