The Data Protection Commissioner says Ireland needs to be tough with online giants based here - amid growing concerns about the security of private information online.
It's after 4.6 million people had their usernames and phone numbers hacked from the photo app Snapchat.
That figure could include up to a quarter of a million people in Ireland.
