The latest Red C opinion poll in yesterday's Sunday Business Post indicates that both Fine Gael and the Labour Party are up three points.
The poll was conducted among 1,000 voters earlier in the week and shows Sinn Féin support at 17 per cent, down four points - its lowest level since 2013.
Fianna Fáil is unchanged at 18 per cent, and support for Independents and others is also down to 28 per cent.
Seán Fleming spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning. Ivan Yates asked him was it the case that Fianna Fáil lacked any policy definition and that the party was suffering from an identity crisis.
Mr Fleming stated that the party would have its Ard Fheis in the next few weeks and they would outline various policy documents.
He also told Ivan: "Micheal Martin is not the problem with Fianna Fáil at all. I think everybody in Fianna Fail... we just need to work a little bit harder."
Mr Fleming finished by saying that by-elections are no barometer of a General Election.
