Many listeners might be looking forward to a few glasses of red wine over the weekend, but Friday's Paper Review kicked off with a story about bottles of wine being used in a very different manner. Ivan explained how an Ennis court heard evidence of a mid-morning "red wine battle" involving two fueding families, that saw ten bottles thrown and shoppers having to take cover.

Unsurprisingly, the bulk of the broadsheets lead with the news of the €5m payment by FIFA to the FAI. Many of the tabloids also lead with the FAI story - including two identical headlines - while the Daily Mail front page also has the news that IMO has become the latest organisation that will recommend its members reject the Landsdowne Road agreement.

Ivan surely turned some listeners off their breakfast when he discussed a study that found no good health reason to eat placenta. Separately, he explained why it might be best to also avoid eating the more common dietary addition of burnt toast.

Elsewhere, there was a witty letter in the Irish Times, an imaginative way to avoid the charge involved with the changing the name on a flight ticket, and the controversial plan by Dutch politician Geert Wilders to show cartoons of Muhammad on television.
