Ivan had a bit of a surprise for Chris this morning, arranging for his Breakfast partner to take a back seat in stunt plane at this year’s Bray air show – with Chris being subjected to loop the loops, spins and all manner of stomach spinning trick.

Ivan wasn’t shy in expressing his delight in his scheme, and told Chris: “It’s going to end in a tragedy but it’s going to be great entertainment.”

The Irish Times leads with Greece, and the headline “All 28 EY leaders to decide on Greece”, while also carrying the story of Enda Kenny using the State jet after a Mayo Fine Gael event last month.

The Examiner leads with a story on the ongoing standoff between the government and the banks over mortgage rates, with “Cabinet ‘backs down’ on bank rates”.

The Irish Independent also leads with Greece – with the headline reading “Now EU tells banks not to cut variable mortgages”.

In the tabloids, The Sun carries a response from the ex-partner of Emma Murphy - the Irish woman whose video about domestic abuse has gone viral, being viewed millions of times - while the Mirror leads with the story of the breakup of celebrity couple Vogue Williams and Brian McFadden.

Chris and Ivan discussed the story of Emma Murphy, with Ivan saying “I want to give three cheers ... for Emma Murphy”.

Meanwhile Chris was surprised by a story on the high number of NCT failures in the first six months of this year.
