This morning’s Paper Review was as much an Ivan Yates seminar/master class on the secrets behind a long and fruitful marriage as it was an examination of the Monday morning press.

Breakfast producer Rebecca got engaged recently and so this morning Ivan and Chris took it upon themselves to offer Rebecca some advice. Ivan told us he felt duty bound to offer his “sagacious, wise advice”.

And so began Ivan’s lessons to Rebecca and her husband-to-be on everything from dealing with in-laws, to wedding invitations and engagement lengths, and how to successfully navigate a lifetime of marriage.

Ivan ended his segment on achieving an eternity of happiness with this particularly bright-eyed denouement: “Most people who get married are never told how grim it is.” Magical.

Today’s papers return Greece to the front pages, with The Irish times headline reading: “EU leaders step up pressure on Tsipras”, while the Irish Independent goes with “Ultimatum to Greeks: cut deeper or get out of euro”. Meanwhile the Irish Examiner leads with a story on an increase in college students seeing counsellors – “Campus therapy up 300% for college students - over 10,000 college students.”

In the tabloids the Sun leads with former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern saying “I’ll say nothing”, as Ahern prepares for his appearance at the Banking Inquiry.

Inside the papers Chris looked at the story on Lewis Hamilton’s failed trip to the Royal Box at Wimbledon, where the dress code kept the two-time Formula 1 World Champion out of his seat.

Ivan was particularly taken with the story of a man tackling two armed robbers on a bus in Drogheda, while the pair discussed the high valuations of Ireland’s embassies around the world.
