Following the release of Budget 2015 yesterday, Minister Leo Varadkar spoke to Newstalk Breakfast about concerns for the health budget.
During the interview, the Health Minister rejected criticism from doctors over his funding allocation in yesterday's budget.
The Irish Medical Organisation claims the 13.2 billion announced amounts to a cut when the current overrun in the sector is taken into account.
Leo Varadkar says that's wrong, and overall there's a net increase of up to 200 million euro in funding for next year.
The Minister said he'd like if the IMO 'knew its facts a bit better', and commented that sometimes he wonders whether interest groups in the healthcare want him to succeed.
He also stated that the Health Services would take a long time to rebuild.
