The Environment Minister says all parties must ensure "everything is done" to help the owners and residents of Longboat Quay.

Alan Kelly was speaking ahead of his meeting with the residents of the Dublin apartment complex later.

He has already said a package of measures is being prepared and he is willing to offer any "encouragement" to any authority who can assist those affected.

Fire officials have given the 900 tenants just a month to carry out the repairs or face possible eviction.  

Last night Dublin City Council backed calls to ensure the residents won't have to foot the cost of emergency works.

And Minister Alan Kelly says all relevant parties must step up to the mark:

Resident Nina Buckley welcomed the Council's move.

However, she told Newstalk.com's Breakfast Show she still does not know who will pay for the work, how long it will take, or whether she will have to move out for the duration:

Dublin City Council members are expecting NAMA to help cover the cost of repairs.

The Council has now offered them unanimous cross-party support and Sinn Féin Councillor Chris Andrews says the responsibility for the repairs lies elsewhere:
