Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting in Dublin last night - in which a 64-year-old man was killed - say they cannot rule out a case of mistaken identity.
Edward Nugent was shot multiple times at the front porch of his house on Harty Avenue in Walkinstown at about 9.30pm.
A gunman fired four shots through the glass screen door at the front porch.
Investigating officers say they are yet to establish a motive - and say the victim may not have been the intended target of the gun attack.

The victim was rushed to St James's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 10pm last night.
A burned out car was found on John McCormack Avenue near the scene, and it was examined by garda experts overnight.

A major forensic investigation is now underway at the house itself.
Detectives have been going door-to-door and looking through neighbouring gardens for any evidence.
Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Catherine Ardagh says it happened in a very quiet area:
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Crumlin or Walkinstown areas between 9 and 10 o’clock last night, and who has any relevant information, to contact them.
