A murder investigation is underway following the discovery of the body of Adrian Folan in Co Clare. Gardai have confirmed he met a violent death.
The Galway native (41) was found dead in a quarry near Liscannor, Co. Clare yesterday morning.
Detectives are investigating whether he may have been killed in a row, and a post mortem has been carried out on his body.
Security Editor with the Irish Independent Tom Brady told Newstalk Breakfast a man in his 40s has been arrested.
The Folan family have meanwhile released a statement, appealing for privacy at this time.
"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for the family and they'd appreciate if all media, including photographers, could please refrain from approaching the house and any member of the family" a statement said on their behalf.
