Four men were hospitalised after a series of stabbing and bottle attacks in Dublin's Temple Bar on Saturday.

One man is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed when he intervened in a fight in Dublin's Temple bar on Saturday evening.

Conor Feehan, journalist with the Evening Herald, spoke to Breakfast this morning about the weekend's attakcs

The 33 year old is being treated at St James's Hospital.

The attack happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday night at Cope Street, Temple Bar. The man is understood to have attempted to intervene in a fight between two men at approximately 7.30pm.

The Irish Independent reports that four men were hospitalised after a series of stabbing or glassing incidents in the Temple Bar area on Saturday evening.

A second man - a 24 year old - was also stabbed, while standing outside a pub on Fleet Street. However his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The perpetrator of that attack was reportedly followed and attacked with a glass bottle nearby.

Gardaí in Pearse street are appealing for witnesses to the incidents.
