A Co Louth priest is calling on people with information on a taxi driver's murder to co-operate with investigators.
53-year-old Martin Mulligan was found dead yesterday morning near his car outside Dundalk.
He had suffered a number of stab wounds in the incident close to the border.
PSNI officers are helping gardaí in their effort to trace who was behind the killing.
Local rector in Dundalk, Fr Michael Cusack, believes people out there could help the inquiry.
"Somebody knows who did this: certainly whoever it is, whoever perpetrated the act knows it themselves - but certainly there must be a wider family and connections around who will notice something very different about the person's behaviour" he told Newstalk Breakfast.
"And they should really be cooperating with all of the forces to try and bring some semblance of justice" he added.
