Minister of State for Primary Care Alex White yesterday announced the suspension of reviews into discretionary medical cards.
The HSE will establish a panel of experts that will decide upon a system that will allow cards to be awarded on medical need.
Chris and Ivan spoke to Karen North, a parent of a child with Down Syndrome who recently lost a discretionary medical card, and Pat Clarke, the CEO of Down Syndrome Ireland.
