With a massive turnout at protests over the weekend and another national protest promised in December, the Government made some interesting statements in regard to Irish Water yesterday.

Minister Alan Kelly all but confirmed that there would be a cap introduced to water charges while the CEO for Irish Water apologised to customers for communication issues.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny further promised that the Government would make "clear and accurate" decision on water charges shortly.

The Cabinet are meeting today and are expected to discuss changes to Irish Water procedures.

This morning, Chris Donoghue and Ivan Yates discussed the latest developments to the Irish Water saga with Ivan claiming that people just simply cannot afford it:

 

Chris and Ivan continued by taking a look at the beginnings of Irish Water, how the company has evolved over the last year and the affect this is having on the Government.

Ivan stated: "A lot of reasonable people have been out protesting and they are just at the end of their tether. 

"There are one million people who working their bloody nuts off night and day and they are paying for everything and they are sick of it.

"The Government have got to placate those people and make the bill affordable and acceptable."
