Yesterday, a new Millward Brown poll for the Sunday Independent found that satisfaction with the government went up four to 23%, while the four main party leaders see their satisfaction with voters also go up.
However, the poll shows how people feel about the main political parties too - with Sinn Féin as the most popular party in the country, with gains for others at the expense of Independents.
Fine Gael go up 3 points to 25%, Fianna Fáil on 19% is up 1 point, and Labour goes up a similar amount to 5%. Independents take all the losses, down 9 to 23%.
This morning, Ivan and Chris discussed the latest developments for the Sinn Féin party and what this could mean ahead of the next General Election.
Ivan stated: "The big story for me was Independents dropping ten points.
"There was this huge opportunity, up to one in three voters prepared to break the party establishment, vote for something new, great opportunity for a new party be it left or centre and what happens? Shane Ross, Lucinda, Stephen Donnelly all moving in different directions.
"That group has started to peel away now, the left going to Sinn Féin and the centre right going to Fine Gael."
Meanwhile, a new report which shows rental prices rose by almost 10% nationwide last year was discussed by Chris and Ivan also.
The latest rental survey by Daft.ie shows the national average rent was 950 euro between October and December last - a jump of 9.7 percent on the previous year.
Dublin's market eased however, down from 16.5% in April, to below 10% by January this year. Outside Dublin rents also continued to increase at a slower pace.
Galway saw a 7% rise, Limerick was up 6.2% and in Waterford city rents grew by 5.1% in the fourth quarter of 2014.
