Sinn Féin's Mary Lou McDonald says the Public Accounts Committee has not been barred from compelling former Rehab CEOs from attending hearings.

The Committee member's comments come after the Procedures and Privileges Committee began considering new rules that could prevent the PAC from forcing Angela Kerins and Frank Flannery to take questions.

However, Mary Lou McDonald says the Public Accounts Committee's submission for Ms Kerins and Mr Flannery will be heard later this week meaning the situation has not yet been clarified.

She told Newstalk's Breakfast she still hopes the pair will appear before the Committee:

Meanwhile, the Irish Times reports today that Angela Kerins' team is considering legal action against the PAC for the harm they say was caused to her during recent controversy.
