The Tánaiste says he would "encourage" Frank Flannery to attend a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for questioning about Rehab.

Mr. Flannery is a senior Fine Gael strategist, a director of Rehab and former Chief Executive of the group that has charitable status here.

A formal invitation from the PAC is to be issued to Mr. Flannery to appear, while current Chief Executive Angela Kerins is to be asked to provide clarity on evidence she gave to the Committee last week.

In the Dáil Eamon Gilmore again insisted senior pay levels in any organisation in receipt of taxpayers money had to be made public and he called on Frank Flannery to appear before PAC.

Meanwhile Rehab finances are likely to come under the spotlight again today at a meeting of the PAC.

It has emerged that CEO Angela Kerins did not disclose that her husband owned a third of the company that the disabilities charity had entered into a business deal with.

When questioned at a recent PAC meeting Ms. Kerins said her husband had been a director of Complete Eco Solutions but that he stepped down after the deal had been done with Rehab.

It is understood Sean Kerins holds 50 of the 150 shares at Complete Eco Solutions. Political news editor of the Irish Times, Arthur Beesley, spoke to Newstalk Breakfast.
