Ryanair's reported a €49 million third quarter profit compared to a €35 million loss at the same point a year previously.
The airline reports that the new winter routes and bases are performing well and the winter schedule, which includes more primary airports, city pairs and business friendly frequencies has converted millions of new customers.
Ryanair has stated it won't engage in speculation on the IAG bid to take over Aer Lingus, of which its a major shareholder, because there's been no formal approach or offer.
However it's restated its position that Ryanair's board will carefully consider any such offer if it's received.
This morning, Michael O'Leary spoke to Newstalk Breakfast and he called for a 'common sense' approach to discussions about the future of the Aer Lingus slots at Heathrow airport.
Michael O'Leary says they're 'largely irrelevant', and more Irish passengers choose to use other London airports.
Concerns have been raised about the slots amid ongoing speculation about the latest IAG bid to take over Aer Lingus.
Mr O'Leary says his personal view is that Aer Lingus would be better owned by an Irish group - but he's tried that three times, and been turned down.
