Amongst the topics to be discussed are the importance and promotion of the drinks trade to the tourism sector as well as the rate of excise tax.

Donal O'Keefe, CEO of the Licensed Vintners Association and Suzanne Costello, CEO Alcohol Action Ireland spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning about the issue.

Mr O'Keefe looked to highlight the role of the pub in the tourism sector and the fact that we have the highest excise in Europe while Ms Costello stated the problem was not the pub but the fact that people were buying cheap alcohol in shops.
