Sinn Féin is calling for the Garth Brooks concerts to go ahead.

Last ditch efforts are underway in a bid to save the gigs.

An alternative is being considered to move two of the dates to later in the week, perhaps the 30th and 31st July.

A meeting of Dublin City Council is due to take place today.

Local TD and Deputy Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald told Newstalk's Breakfast the decision will have far-reaching consequences:

The bid would have to be fast-tracked after organisers address the concerns of residents, probably by assuring them that no more concerts will take place next year.

A final decision is expected tomorrow.
