Solicitor Brian O'Donnell has a new deadline of 4 o'clock this afternoon to vacate his home in Killiney County Dublin.

Legal papers were nailed to the gate of his property on the Vico road by representatives of receivers last night.

The High Court yesterday rejected an attempt by the children of Brian and Mary Patricia O'Donnell to stop Bank of Ireland and the receivers taking possession of the house.

This morning, Ivan and Chris discussed the issue with Ivan asking, is it ever alright to evict anyone from their family home?

"Is it ok for a family home to be the basis of an eviction or not in Ireland in 2015? Because we're going to have a lot of them.

"I'm looking at Limerick, 218 cases listed for repossession through the courts, Ennis, small place, 131, Donegal, Letterkenny, 271 and it all adds up to more than 8,000 civil bills and it adds up to more than 37,000 family homes that are on the line.

"That is a modern day issue for us."

Chris then asked should it get to a point where a family home will never be repossessed with Ivan replying: "Where do you draw a line in the sand?

"If someone got sick, lost their job, if someone just can't repay for circumstances or a combintion of factors."

"The political point is, we have socialised the banks and we have market forces for householders and I don't think Enda Kenny is in a great political position.

"He's basically saying I'm not going to reduce it from three years to one year.

"I'm not going to take away the right of veto for banks."

Chris stated that yesterday: "The Taoiseach admitted that not enough has been done for the people who are two years or more in arrears."
