It's emerged that Comreg has been paying out bonuses to staff at a time when they’re banned in State agencies.
The Telecoms regulator paid out three quarter of a million euro in remuneration "based on performance" in 2012.
A similar sum, €750,000 was paid on in 2012, was also paid out the previous year.

Comreg says its wage bill is €10 million, 8% was remuneration based on perfomance - or a bonus. Worked out mathematically, per the 125 employees at the agency, it comes to €7,000 per staff member.
