The house was supposed to have been sold for €380,000. The family then found out that the solicitor’s practice had been shut down and Thomas Byrne had re- mortgaged the house with several banks. The family ended up going to the High Court to get the deeds of their mother’s home back, and eventually sold the house sold the house last December for €126,000. They lost €254,000 and the Law Society has told them that they will not be compensated for that money.
