Chris opened this morning’s Paper review with news of a survey that has found a massive majority of Irish workers hate their jobs, and eight out of 10 have cried at work due to criticism from their boss.
The broadsheet front pages focussed on the upcoming Budget and the refugee crisis – with the Irish Times leading with: “EU Ministers fail to agree relocation scheme for refugees”.
The Irish Independent focuses on the Budget, with: “Self employed and farmers win €150 Budget tax boost”.
The Irish Examiner leads with “Refugee crisis to worsen as borders are shut,” while also carrying a picture of the returning Cork camogie side, fresh from winning the All-Ireland title on Sunday.
The tabloids in general focus on the bus crash in Co Cork yesterday, with headlines ranging from the
Star’s “Hero bus driver saved our lives”, to the Mirror’s “Schoolbus miracle”.
Inside the papers, Chris was taken with a story about an airline that has grounded 130 staff for being overweight, while Ivan had an eye on the latest reports on the murky world of doping in sport, but this time in sports like billiards and bridge – the latter being a game Ivan appears thoroughly unimpressed by.
“It’s an international sport bridge – I mean get over it, there’s not even money involved,” he told Chris.
