This morning the front pages are once again dedicated almost exclusively to the growing refugee crisis, with yesterday’s shock at the disturbing image of the young Aylan Kurdi lying dead on a Turkish beach now giving way to debate over the European Union’s, and Ireland’s, response.
The Irish Times leads with “EU plan for refugees expected next week”, The Independent goes with “Coalition caves on taking refugees”, while The Examiner says “State under pressure to act”.
Several of the tabloids focus on the father of Aylan, with Abdullah Kurdi telling of his grief at losing two of his sons and his wife while attempting to reach Greece.
Beyond the front pages, there was discussion on the annoyance for many adults of kids in pubs, and why parents irritate kids on long car journeys.
Ivan informs us that no matter what you think, your cat will never miss you when you go, and brings us a story about why Bono looks unlikely to never play guitar with U2 again.
