The papers lead with various headlines this morning but there is no doubt that Aer Lingus was certainly dominating the front pages once again.

The Irish Times leads with that Aer Lingus story claiming that the State is to keep the veto over Heathrow slots in deal.

Labour capitulates to Fine Gael on Aer Lingus sale is the headline in Irish Independent while the Irish Examiner says Cabinet clears IAG bid for Aer Lingus.

The tabloids go with various headlines. The Irish Daily Mail goes with smacking in the home to be banned while the Irish Sun goes with ban for 2,000 yobs.

The Irish Daily Star's headline concerns Jonathan Rhys Myers announcing he is giving up alcohol.

Inside the papers, presenter Chris Donoghue highlighted that postmen are under attack. Well, sort of. Apparently, two are attacked every week.

The pair also discussed the amount of trash that people own, ie gadgets that you would buy and then probably never use. It relates to the second-hand economy. Chris discussed second-hand clothes, Ivan is "too snobby" to wear them.

And a prominent Cardinal has declared the Marriage Referendum is a "defeat for humanity".
