Tuesday morning’s Paper Review started with a mention of the world’s latest victim of cyber terrorism – Mattie McGrath TD.
The website of the Tipp TD was hacked yesterday, with visitors being brought to a ‘hardcore’ website, as Chris put it. Ivan suggested it might have been “the first time some interest has been shown in Clonmel.”
The Irish Times and the Irish Examiner both go with the refugee crisis as their lead headline, with the Irish times reporting on a friction in Government over the response to the crisis – “coalition split over response to migrant crisis” – while the Examiner reports there is “Confusion over state offer to shelter refugees.”
The Irish Independent leads with news on new laws for stricter sentencing for repeat offending burglars.
The tabloids front pages carry images from Ireland’s 1-0 win over Georgia at the Aviva stadium last night, while the Irish Daily Mirror carries the story of a cancer patient waiting on a trolley for five days in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
And Chris picked out an interesting report in the Irish Times, which reports 25% of Brazil’s congress are either under criminal investigation or have been charged with crimes.
Meanwhile, Ivan was concerned with the X-Factor’s falling viewing figures, and told is “the word is Louis could be back!”
