The broadsheet front pages today are split between reporting on the Hungarian treatment of refugees and Irish Water bonuses.

The Irish Times reports on the situation in Hungary, with the headline: “Stones and Tear gas fly as migrant tension erupts”.

The Irish Independent leads with the news that Irish Water bosses are set for an annual raise of €3000: “Bosses at IW to get 3000 pay rise“, while the Irish Examiner reports that “Minister standing over Irish Water Bonuses” as its front page article.

The Mirror tells us that “Tubs sells €1.25m love nest”, The Sun reports on improved prison conditions for Alexander Pacteau, killer of Karen Buckley, while the Daily Mail’s front page tells us of a rise in “The Scourge of Manorexia” as rates of male anorexia are reportedly rising.

Inside the papers, Chris picked out a story on the fooling of Elton John by two men who conned the star into believing he was speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin about gay rights. Elton wasn’t though, he was just “talking to two muppets on the radio”, as Chris put it. 

“I know that feeling,” Ivan said. 

“So do our guests,” Chris said.
