The black and amber of Kilkenny dominated much of Monday morning’s front pages, as Brian Cody’s side yesterday made the now nigh-on annual September waltz to another All-Ireland title.

In news, the refugee crisis continues to dominate, with the Irish Independent headline reading: “Hogan’s €500m plan for EU farmers to feed refugees”, and the Irish Examiner reporting that the “State prepares to take in 5,000 refugees.”

The Irish Times meanwhile leads with the news that “Army barracks may be used to house migrants”.

The Daily Mirror also reports on the crisis on its front page, while the Herald reports on Dublin’s drug problems, and the Star and the Sun report on the robbery of a Tallaght chipper with a chainsaw at the weekend.

Elsewhere Chris looked at the possibilities of U2 bringing their latest show to Ireland – and the difficulties they may have in finding a suitable venue – while Ivan told us about a gig he hosted at the Aviva stadium recently, and during which he won the draw. But he handed the prize back, he told us – “It was moisturiser”.
