We heard this week of a county Clare man dying in a suspected farm accident.
If it is proven that this tragic death was a farm accident, it would bring the total workplace deaths on Irish farms for this year to twenty. In all of last year the total was sixteen - including four children.
Many of those who have lost loved ones to accidents on farms are working to lower the rate of deaths on Irish farms and a national conference took place in Kilkenny this week to address the issue.
Earlier this morning, Newstalk Breakfast spoke to Eugene Hogan, who lost his brother Dermot just over a month ago to an accident on a farm.
